Who is the Modern Prince?

He is you.

Born outside the noble lineage.

Called in this world with destiny and privilege.

In this work, we’ll take a look at the Prince’s position in the modern world.

The Modern Prince has duty and responsibility -

The need to leave behind his childish self-focus.

To emerge as the selfless one his people require.

Born outside of the Castle, he no longer holds the luxuries once possessed.

Yet, the same responsibility is demanded of him in a new world.

Before, the Prince had the luxury of a structured life laying before him.

Now, he is born in the wilderness.

In his previous luxury, he had the house butler to train him.

A rigid life was set before him:

To train and master the art of combat in the field.

To study and learn the arts of the tactician in the library.

To master etiquette in the dining hall.

And, he had a king, to teach him the ways of the king.

Today, in a foreign land, he is far from home.

The castle and his teachers died centuries ago.

That world is gone.

In the new world, his life in the village knows nothing about the existence of any castle, or any royal responsibility.

And he is no longer in the same village as those in his first lands.

In the new world, all studies and teachers are available, but they lay outside of his home.

He cannot learn how to create the focus and discipline he requires, not on his own, and not from the villagers.

There is no structured life to wake up to.

His training is no longer forced upon him, yet, is still demanded of him.

The Modern Prince must now of his own will go out to learn the arts, the ways of the king, and so on.

His people need him.
